The second edition of an online al Qaeda magazine has surfaced with frank essays, creatively designed imagery and ominous terror tips such as using a pickup truck as a weapon and shooting up a crowded restaurant in Washington.
The magazine is called "Inspire" and intelligence officials believe that an American citizen named Samir Khan, now living in Yemen, is the driving force behind the publication.
The latest edition was emerged on the 10th anniversary of the suicide attack on the guided missile destroyer USS Cole -- struck as it refueled in Aden, Yemen. The first edition came out in July.
Christopher Boucek, a Yemen expert with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, said the timing is no coincidence.
"It also comes on the heels of a busy week for al Qaeda in Yemen. They released an hour long video last week. There was also an attack on a British Convoy in Sanaa [Yemen's capital] last week. And an audiotape was released two days ago. Al Qaeda in Yemen is good at amplifying its message and that shows the organization is still active, that they're still able to function," he said.
An article titled "The Ultimate Mowing Machine" calls for using a pickup truck as a "mowing machine, not to mow grass but mow down the enemies of Allah."

I know many would not believe me when I say the following, and yet I must do so for posterity's sake, so here I go.
This is not an Islamic magazine.
While I have no proof, I'm sure this is a CIA created magazine to predictively program and perpetuate the myth that those who read the Quran are violent, hateful people, and to equate both pieces of literature by having the former sully the latter.
The former is the product of twisted minds.
The latter is a beautiful book everyone should read at least once in their lives from cover to cover with an open mind and heart.
I would never lie about something about this, nor could all the hateful magazines in the world,and the cowed minds they alter, ever change this fact.
I have read this magazine, "Inspire", and it does indeed contain the contents they claim it to.
It's also professionally put together, and has hotmail and gmail addresses readily available for others "desiring to contribute".
Would anyone in their right mind believe that there would be no pursuit after these email accounts, after the creators of the magazine to stop the dissemination of such information?
I posted this article because its subject touches upon the recent incident in Boston, and to hopefully demonstrate one of the many tactics used to vilify a group of people for gain.
I also post it to prove that I don't hide from those who lie out of fear that association with the Quran or those who read it will, in turn, vilify me.
I read the Quran, and have read it many times, and know it through and through.
The only struggle I will ever condone involves that which must be undertaken by free men to preserve their freedom, and the freedom of those beaten and arrested in the streets, hunted through mountains like animals, and who are relegated to serfs by people who "kill us softly" with their poisons, prisons and propaganda.
The moment we can break away from their trickery is the moment we, ourselves become free men and women.
