Sandy Hook Hoax Compared To A Real school Shooting

Matt's thoughts:
You'll see in this clip the only camera shot of the supposed children's bodies. This is actually the first time I've ever seen it myself. Is it the heart-wrenching scene of 20 murdered children? Is it simply 20 something bundles of material in white sheets made to look like little children's bodies? We'll never know because not a single camera, paramedic or situation-relevant individual was let anywhere near the school. The parents, if they are indeed the real parents, will never know either because they weren't allowed to view the bodies prior to burial. Mind-boggling. Who could see something like this and not be inclined to even ask a single question about the mysterious surrounding the situation?

Sandy Hook - Fully Exposed (Part 2 of the documentary)

Cameron to deliver jinxed Europe speech

David Cameron will this week finally deliver his long-delayed speech promising a referendum on Britain’s relationship with the European Union.

After months of preparation, he had been due to travel to the Netherlands on Friday to spell out his plans. But the Prime Minister was forced to postpone it the night before as the gravity of the Algerian hostage crisis became apparent.

William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, said today Mr Cameron would make the speech this week.

Drone strikes 'to be exempted' from CIA terror 'playbook'

The Obama administration is nearing completion on a new detailed counter terrorism 'playbook' which will establish a guide for lethal operations during the president's second term.

However, the Washington Post reported that the CIA's controversial drone operations in Afghanistan and Pakistan would effectively be given an exemption from the new rules in the run up to the American withdrawal next year.

This is likely to prove controversial in Islamabad and Kabul, where the drone strikes have provoked angry demonstrations against the violation of sovereignty.

Bulgaria 'Assassin' Was Only Seeking 5 Minutes of Fame

The man who pointed a gas pistol at a Bulgarian politician's head was only trying to "get his five minutes of fame" and did not want to kill him, according to police psychologists.

The 25-year-old who pulled the gun on the head of Bulgaria's Turkish minority party leader while he was speaking at a party conference was only trying to frighten his target.

Police have revealed that Oktay Enimehmedov, an ethnic Turk originally from the eastern city of Burgas, thought he would die in the attack and left a letter at his Sofia flat.

Mars: 'Strongest evidence' planet may have supported life, scientists say

Minerals found underground on Mars are the "strongest evidence yet" that the planet may have supported life, according to new research.

The team, led by the Natural History Museum in London and the University of Aberdeen, said the ingredients for life could have been in a zone up to 5km down for much of the planet's history.

They used data from the US space agency (Nasa) and European Space Agency (Esa).

Nature Geoscience has published the research.

Syrian opposition seeks Qatar help for transition government

The head of Syria's opposition coalition has flown to Qatar to secure promises of financial aid for a transitional government in rebel-held areas, sources at negotiations in Istanbul said on Sunday.

The talks on agreeing a transitional government had been hit by disagreement over whether a transitional government could survive when the Syrian National Coalition President Moaz Alkhatib left in the middle of deliberations, the sources said.

Veteran jihadist claims Algeria siege for al Qaeda

A veteran Islamist fighter claimed responsibility on behalf of al Qaeda for the Algerian hostage crisis, a regional website reported on Sunday, tying the bloody desert siege to France's intervention across the Sahara in Mali.

Algeria said it expected to raise its preliminary death tolls of 23 hostages and 32 militants killed in the four-day siege at a gas plant deep in the Sahara.

Liam Fox says voters want return to Common Market as PM faces more pressure over EU speech

Voters want a return to the Common Market, one of the Conservative Party's leading Eurosceptics told David Cameron yesterday today ahead of the Prime Minister's long-awaited speech on Britain's future in the EU.

Former defence secretary Liam Fox said Britain should be aiming to return to a 'basic economic relationship' with Brussels, which people backed in a referendum in 1975.

Dr Fox said he had seen the Prime Minister's speech -- expected to be delivered on Wednesday after being postponed because of the Algeria hostage crisis -- and believed it would be an historic moment.

David Cameron calls for 'global response' after Algerian hostage crisis

David Cameron has warned that the fight against terrorism in north Africa could go on for decades as he confirmed that six Britons and a British resident are believed to have died in the Algerian hostage crisis.

The prime minister said the seizure of a Saharan gas facility by a group of international jihadists last week was a stark reminder of the threat from terrorism the world over. He pledged a global response to what he described as a global threat.

"It will require a response that is about years, even decades, rather than months," Cameron said.

European Central Bank's Praet says euro zone economy still shrinking

European Central Bank Executive Board member Peter Praet warned Europe's economy was still shrinking, making it necessary for euro zone states to continue their reforms, and he dismissed fears low interest rates could spur higher inflation in Germany.

In an interview with German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung published on Sunday, Praet said although financial markets were now significantly calmer it was too early to say the euro zone crisis had ended, and the single currency bloc should not rely on the ECB alone.

"Unfortunately we are still in a phase were the economy in Europe is shrinking... there are some positive signs, but it is not yet clear whether we are at a turning point," he said.

Good People Still Exist: Woman Offers Apology to Shop Owners Seven Years After Deceiving Them

Now here’s a tale that will warm the cockles of your heart. A married couple in China had their faith in humankind restored earlier this month when a woman who intentionally used a counterfeit 100 Yuan note in their shop seven years ago returned to apologise and make amends.

Despite having long since forgotten the incident, the couple were overjoyed to receive a sudden visit from the woman, who had bourne feelings of guilt ever since the day she tricked the pair into accepting the fake cash.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee opened their small clothes shop in the city of Baoji, Shaanxi, in 2006. One day not long after having first opened their family run business, a young woman entered their shop, purchased a single blouse and immediately left. It was only after closer inspection, however, that shop owner Mr. Lee realised that the 100 Yuan (US$16) bill the young woman had paid with was, in fact, a counterfeit.

Snowpocalypse Russia: 'Snow tsunami' swallows streets, cars, buildings (PHOTOS)

On Friday, Moscow was on a verge of traffic collapse as more than 10 inches of snow fell on the city, which is more than half of January’s average.

Thousands of passengers were stranded overnight in the capital’s major airports, as several dozen flights were delayed.

Muscovites woke up and found their cars, driveways and houses buried under a thick layer of snow, with city workers unable to get to smaller streets.

Moscow’s Yandex app showed traffic at level 10, the highest possible, as strong winds created blizzard conditions and built imposing snow drifts.

Algeria expects heavy hostage toll as West defends ally

Algeria said on Sunday it expected heavy hostage casualties after its troops ended a desert siege, but Western governments warned against criticising tactics used by their vital ally in the struggle with Islamists across the Sahara.

An Algerian minister acknowledged the death toll would rise, and a private television station reported that 25 bodies had been found at the gas plant near the town of In Amenas after forces staged a final assault against the Islamist hostage-takers on Saturday.

Lake Victoria: 'Most dangerous lake' kills 5,000 a year

Straddling three East African countries -- Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya -- Lake Victoria has for centuries been a vital resource for the millions of people living along its vast coastline.

The massive lake, which stretches some 70,000 square kilometers, is the world's second-biggest freshwater body and the biggest of its kind in Africa, as well as the chief reservoir of the Nile. Home to a stunning archipelago of more than 80 islands, Lake Victoria provides a livelihood for the fishermen navigating its waters and the businesses dotting its shores.

But for many that comes with a risk.

According to local officials, about 5,000 people are killed every year on the lake, victims of erratic weather conditions and a mix of poor communications and lack of resources.

Five wounded at U.S. gun shows

At least five people -- three in North Carolina, one in Indiana and one in Ohio -- were injured after weapons went off at gun shows Saturday, officials said, at a time when there's been renewed discussion about private gun sales at such shows.

The most casualties came at the Dixie Gun and Knife Show in Raleigh, where attendees bolted -- with at least one woman wiping out in the frenetic scene -- when gunfire rang out around 1 p.m., as seen on video captured by CNN affiliate WRAL.

Police later explained that a a 36-year-old man from Wilmington, North Carolina, was unfastening the case of his 12-gauge shotgun on a table near the show entrance when it accidentally discharged. The man planned to sell the shotgun at the show.

Invasion of the foreign supercops: Minister wants to hire U.S. crimebusters to take over British police

Foreign crimebusters such as US supercop Bill Bratton will be given the chance to take over British police forces under radical new plans to be unveiled by Home Secretary Theresa May.

And former Army officers will be recruited as police superintendents in an attempt to end the ‘closed shop’ police culture blamed for bungled investigations and corruption. The changes, set to be fiercely opposed by police chiefs, rip up the centuries-old tradition of only British citizens serving in the police.

They also abolish the rule that senior policemen have to work their way up from being a bobby on the beat.

Some of our Spitfires are missing: Doubts over existence of 160 WW2 fighter planes in Burma

As the media frenzy over the search for Spitfires allegedly buried in Burma ran out of steam last week, with doubts raised about their very existence, the man chiefly responsible for getting the project off the ground was sorely tempted to say "I told you so".

Excitement at the prospect of exhuming up to 160 of the historic warplanes, which, it was claimed, the British had buried at the end of the Second World War, threatened to curdle after the man leading the search, the Lincolnshire farmer David Cundall, called off a press conference on Thursday because the search at Mingaladon airfield in Rangoon had drawn a blank.

What's missing in U.S. gun control scramble? Bullets

In tracking down illegal weapons, the smoking gun may not be a gun at all.

Bullets are one thing Sacramento Police Detective Greg Halstead can count on to root out weapons that otherwise would be impossible to find. They are also largely missing from the gun control debate in Washington.

Since 2008, California's capital has required ammunition dealers to take names and thumbprints of bullet buyers. They send the information electronically to police computers, which compare the names to an FBI criminal database.

Four dead, four missing as fumes fill Russian coal mine

At least four miners died when fumes filled the shaft where they were working in Russia's main coal-producing region on Sunday, Russian news agencies reported.

Searches for another four missing men had to be suspended after levels of methane in the mine in the Kuznetsk Basin reached dangerous levels, the RIA and ITAR-Tass news wires said. Sixty-nine miners managed to escape, they added.

Algeria ends desert siege with 23 hostages dead

Algerian troops ended a siege by Islamist militants at a gas plant in the Sahara desert where 23 hostages died, with a final assault which killed all the remaining hostage-takers.

Believed to be among the 32 dead militants was their leader, Abdul Rahman al-Nigeri, a Nigerien close to al Qaeda-linked commander Mokhtar Belmokhtar, presumed mastermind of the raid.

An Algerian interior ministry statement on the death toll gave no breakdown of the number of foreigners among hostages killed since the plant was seized before dawn on Wednesday.

Rallies across U.S. assail Obama's proposed gun curbs

Pro-gun activists held "high noon" rallies across the United States on Saturday to defend the right to own firearms that they say is being threatened by President Barack Obama's gun-control proposals.

The U.S. debate over gun control erupted in mid-December after a man armed with an assault rifle killed 20 first-graders and six adults at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut - the deadliest of a string of U.S. shooting sprees last year.

"We are law-abiding citizens, business owners, military, and we are not going to be responsible for other people's criminal actions," former Marine Damon Locke said to applause at a Florida rally he had helped organize

Paul Santos Attacked by a tiger shark, Hawaii

A man who was surfing in Kiholo Bay off the Big Island with a friend said he never thought that sharks were a big threat there until he heard his friend scream.

Steve Macres said he was surfing Wednesday with Paul Santos, just as they had done for many years, when the tiger shark, estimated at between 15 feet and 18 feet, attacked.

"I turned around to go on a wave and heard him. I heard that blood-curdling scream. It was just so primordial. It was unbelievable, and it went into an echo so I could tell while he was screaming, he went underwater," Macres told KITV-TV.

Record radioactive cesium levels 2,540 times the government's safety standard found in Fukushima rockfish

Caught in December, the rockfish had a reading of 254,000 becquerels per kilogram, the largest reading found in seafood since the nuclear disaster of March 2011.

The rockfish was caught near an unloading point north of the No. 1 through No. 4 reactors. No fishermen operate in the nuclear plant's port.
