Is a gunman on the loose in Arizona? Vacationing couple shot dead as they sat in their car admiring the view

A couple on vacation from New Hampshire were found shot dead in their car near the scenic resort town of Sedona, in Arizona.

The killings of James Johnson, 63, of Jaffrey, and Carol Raynsford of Nelson, also 63, remain a mystery, and detectives are trying to trace their travels in an effort to identify suspects.

Arizona police said they were shot with a .223-calibre rifle at close range. Cartride shells from the weapon were found by authorities on both sides of the vehicle, suggesting one of the victims was forced to wait in horror as their companion was killed.

Police fear it was a random and unprovoked attack, sparking concerns the gunman could strike again. Read More
