Gu Kailai makes 'relaxed' admission of guilt to murdering British businessman Neil Heywood, prosecutor claims

The disgraced Chinese diplomat's wife who is accused of murdering a British businessman has made a 'relaxed' admission of guilt, a senior prosecutor has claimed.

Gu Kailai appeared 'gracious' as she confessed to killing Old Harrovian Neil Heywood by poisoning him in a Chongqing hotel last November - just days before she stands trial for the alleged crime.

It is understood that they fell out over a money issue and the former lawyer believed the businessman, a long-time associate of the family, threatened her son’s safety.

The anonymous source, who is reportedly part of the prosecution team, told the South China Morning Post that Mrs Gu, 53, had also admitted to 'economic crimes'. Read More
