Charlene Fears killed grandson, 4, with butchers knives and is shot dead by cops when she refuses to drop the blades

A grandmother who stabbed her four-year-old grandson to death was shot and killed by police after she refused to drop two butcher's knives used in the slaughter.

Charlene Fears, from Buffalo, New York, was drenched in blood and brandishing the two knives when she charged at officers trying to save the boy's life.

Police ordered the 38-year-old to drop the weapons and when she refused opened fire.

As Fears was gunned down, her daughter, Tiffany Fears, was desperately performing CPR to try and save the life of her son Roderick Geiger III.

Both the boy and his grandmother were pronounced dead at hospital following the shooting that took place last Thursday.

Buffalo Police chief said two patrol officers were greeted with a scene of unimaginable horror when they were flagged down outside the front porch of Fears' home.

They found the young boy bleeding profusely from stab wounds to his stomach and chest. Read More
