Two French gendarmes hospitalized after boy, EIGHT, attacked them with a hammer and tear gas bomb

Two French policemen needed hospital treatment after being attacked by an eight-year-old boy armed with a hammer and a tear gas bomb.

One officer suffered a broken finger, and both were left bruised and temporarily blinded in the assault in Nantes, western France.

The pair were set upon by the pint-sized attacker after being called to a bust-up between neighbours on a notorious housing estate.

The two burly officers finally managed to bring the youngster under control before taking him and his mother to the police station.
