PCSO Samuel Freeland who won bravery award is jailed for drugging and raping teenage girl

A community policeman who was once commended for bravery has been jailed for six-and-a-half years for raping a teenage girl.

PCSO Samuel Freeland targeted his 19-year-old victim as she walked alone through a town centre after a night out, inviting her back to his home and giving her a glass of wine.

The court heard how the wine may have contained a crushed up sleeping pill, which Freeland, 23, had been prescribed only days before the attack.

He was convicted of rape at Reading Crown Court after a six day trial. He denied the charge. Read More
