Humberside Car Crash Kills Three People

Three people have been killed after two vehicles collided on the A614 in East Yorkshire, police say.

Two others were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after the accident in the village of East Cowick.

"Humberside Police called at 1.35pm today reporting a serious two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A614 at East Cowick, Goole," a spokesman said.

"Police, ambulance, air ambulance and fire brigade were in attendance."

The road was expected to be closed until 9pm.

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed two patients had been airlifted by helicopter from the scene to Leeds General Infirmary.

A spokeswoman said she could not confirm the nature or seriousness of their injuries.
