Death of 6 year old Girl At Campsite 'Not Suspicious' but a "tragic incident"

Two people arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a six-year-old girl at a campsite have been released without charge after police concluded there were no suspicious circumstances.

Paramedics were called to the Holmsley campsite in Bransgore, Dorset, just after midnight on Good Friday.

A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service said that when they arrived, the girl was "fitting and not breathing".

The girl's mother and father were reportedly giving her CPR at this point.

She was taken to Southhampton General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A man, aged 30, and a 40-year-old woman from Gosport, Hampshire, were questioned by police who initially treated the death as suspicious.

Bu the results of a post-mortem examination have indicated that it was a "tragic incident".

An investigation into the cause of the girl's death is ongoing.
