Carlton R. Franklin Raped and Murdered Lena Triano in her home when he was 15' arrested 40 YEARS after the crime

Nearly four decades after a quiet secretary was found stabbed to death in her home - baffling investigators - her alleged killer has been arrested.

Lena Triano was found bound, raped, strangled and with multiple stab wounds at her Westfield, New Jersey house in 1976, when she was 57.

Now investigators who opened the cold case believe she was murdered by a 15-year-old boy who lived just a few hundred feet away.

Carlton R. Franklin, who has spent nearly 20 years behind bars for kidnapping and robbery since the murder, has now been arrested for the terrifying crime, the New Jersey Star Ledger reported.

Triano's clothes were kept from the scene and advanced DNA technology showed investigators she had been raped.

Forensic tests led them to the truck driver, who is now 51 and still living in New Jersey. Prosecutors announced his arrest on Tuesday. Read More
