Father of alleged teenage victim of sex grooming gang 'joined BNP after what happened to her'

The father of a teenage girl who was allegedly the victim of a child abuse gang, told a court today that he joined the British National Party 'after what had happened to her'.

But he said that he had 'nothing against Asians' and that he did not object to who his 15-year-old daughter mixed with.

The witness, who cannot be identified, was giving evidence in the trial of 11 men accused of being part of a sexual exploitation ring operating in and around Rochdale, Greater Manchester, in 2008 and 2009.

The group all deny conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with five girls under the age of 16.

The men are accused of using alcohol, drugs, money and threats of violence to force the alleged victims to have sex with them.

Today the father told Liverpool Crown Court that he joined the BNP shortly after his teenage daughter, now 19, was abused.
