Jane Bashara's Alleged Killer Hands himself in to the Police and Claims Husband was Involved in the Murder

A man claiming to be an accomplice in the murder of marketing executive Jane Bashara - who was found strangled in the back seat of her Mercedes - turned himself into police yesterday and said her husband was also involved in the murder.

Joe Gentz, 48, walked into Grosse Pointe Park Police Station, Michigan, and confessed to having a direct role in the suburban mother's death along with her husband Bob, who is the only person of interest in the crime after he failed a lie detector test.

A police source said that Gentz has not been criminally charged and that his story was inconsistent.

Gentz was included in a list of people given to police by Bob Bashara who he thought might want to hurt his wife.

A tow truck driver found the 56-year-old's body eight miles from her affluent home in the upscale suburb of Grosse Point in a rundown part of Detroit.

Her husband had reported the mother missing the night before when he said he returned from work to find her mising but the TV and lights on.

Police also confirmed that Mrs Bashara was murdered at her home and then dumped in her car and that her broken fingernails were a sign that she 'fought for her life'. Read More
