Fergie furious after race row player won't shake victim's hand and Ku Klux Klan masks given to fans

Swoop: Police seized copies of the Red Issue magazine which printed a Luis Suarez-themed KKK mask to incite Liverpool fans.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson called race-row Liverpool striker Luis Suarez a ‘disgrace’ yesterday after he refused to shake hands with one of his players.

Suarez came face-to-face with Patrice Evra at Old Trafford for the first time since his eight-match ban for racially abusing the United captain last October.

But instead of drawing a line under the row, Suarez pointedly bypassed Evra during the traditional pre-match handshakes in a snub Sir Alex said could have ‘caused a riot’.

Later, after United’s ill-tempered 2-1 win, emotions spilled over into violence as the players made their way back to the dressing room. Read More
