Paul Daniels chops off finger with circular saw while trying to build SAFETY DEVICE for the power tool

He is used to sawing his wife Debbie McGee in half during magic tricks but pint-sized magician Paul Daniels recently found himself on the wrong end of the blade.

The celebrity magician thought his career was over when his fingers slipped into the teeth of a circular saw while he was trying to build a safety device for the power tool.

Recalling the dramatic moment, Mr Daniels said he was approaching the 'fiddly bit' when his hand slipped.

'Very quickly and without any warning the piece of timber seemed to leap and pulled my left hand fingers into the teeth of the circular saw', he said.

The blade sliced off the top of his 'ring' finger and badly damaged his little finger and forefinger.

The accident happened in his garden shed, at his home in Wargrave, Berkshire. His wife Debbie McGee was working on her local radio show at the time. Read More
