Fuel tanker crashes into house: Somerset man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

A Somerset man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a fuel tanker crashed into a Dorset home and started a fire this morning.

Dorset Police say a 51-year-old Yeovil man has been arrested in Wool following the incident at a bungalow in Folly Lane, and is helping police with their enquiries.

The female occupant of the house, aged in her 50s, is said to be safe and well.

Around 30 firefighters were called to the incident at 8.43am this morning after a series of emergency calls from nearby residents.

The lane has been cordoned off and residents have been evacuated, but the fire is out and police have confirmed there are no injuries.

Dorset Police are asking any witnesses who have not yet spoken to them to call 101, quoting incident number 20:68. Source
