Six people, including three children, die after a house fire in north west London - 24th Sept 2011

Six people, including three children, have died after a house fire in north west London.

According to the London Fire Brigade (LFB), two teenagers and an adult have also been killed in the blaze in Neasden.

Around 30 firefighters have been battling the blaze in Sonia Gardens after being called in the early hours of the morning.

Two other people escaped the two-storey semi-detached house.

They are thought to be a man and a 16-year-old girl and both are being treated in hospital after suffering burns.

Station manager Glen Gorman said: "There's no doubt this is an absolute tragedy.

"My thoughts, and those of my colleagues at the London Fire Brigade, are with friends, family and loved ones of those affected at this extremely sad and difficult time."

A spokesman for the LFB said the fire was brought under control by 2.50am.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but Mr Gorman added: "We are now working with the police to ensure a full and thorough investigation is carried out."
