Torrential rains Tuesday afternoon in Tampa, florida, stranded many drivers in their cars and covered some roads with 4 feet of water - 9th Aug 2011

Just before the height of the afternoon rush hour on Tuesday, torrential rains flooded much of Tampa. Reports came in of streets underwater from Bruce B. Downs to Florida Avenue and south to Dale Mabry and Bayshore Blvd.

The storms also knocked out the power for more than 2,000 Tampa Electric customers.

At its peak, 4 feet of water covered the intersection of South Dale Mabry Blvd. at Henderson. Many drivers thought their cars could make it through, but many couldn't. Read More
