Pakistan PM Demands End To US Drone Strikes

Pakistan's new prime minister has called on the US to end its campaign of drone attacks in the country in his first address since returning to office.

Nawaz Sharif, who was ousted in a military coup in 1999, is due to be sworn in by the president after a parliamentary vote saw him elected for a third time.

US drone strikes in the country's tribal northwest were among the issues he chose to tackle on his first day in charge.

"We respect the sovereignty of others and they should also respect our sovereignty and independence," he warned.
