Four people dead and thousands evacuated as floods cause chaos across Europe and leave cities in Germany and Czech Republic submerged

Several people have died or are missing as floods cause havoc across Germany (pictured: Passau in the southeast), the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Austria (inset). Some residents have also been evacuated from flooding in Poland. Czech officials said the waters of the Vltava river could reach critical levels in Prague and that special metal walls were being erected to prevent flooding.
