Student dies from infectious meningitis in North Hungary

A secondary-school student has died in infectious meningitis in Vac, N Hungary, the chief medical officer of Budapest and Pest county confirmed to MTI on Tuesday.

The girl, who was treated with symptoms of rhinitis, died on Saturday in the morning, Zsuzsanna Homor said.

Microbiological examinations have revealed that her death had been caused by the neisseria meningitidis bacterium, the pathogen of infectious meningitis.
