Horsemeat: Millions Of Ready Meals Thrown Away

Nearly 18 million packets of processed food were thrown away by families in Britain after the horsemeat scandal, according to a survey.

Research to kick off Tefal's Fresh Week found more than 13.5 thousand tonnes of items like sausages, burgers and meat pies were chucked in the bin.

The kitchenware manufacturer said it shows the recent scandals have had a positive effect on the nation's eating habits, with Britons becoming more aware of the health risks of processed ready-meals.
