Flash flooding reported in east Alabama; more rain expected throughout day

Flash flooding continues in parts of east Alabama, and more showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout central Alabama, according to the National Weather Service.

"We've had reports of flooding pretty much from Oxford south to the city of Talladega," said Jessica Talley, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

A flash flood warning expired at 9 a.m. in Calhoun County, and one is effective in Clay and Cleburne counties until 12 p.m.
