Explosion at Ontario plant sends 6 to hospital

manufacturing plant in the community of Newmarket, north of Toronto, on Wednesday.

The company, Dortec Industries, a manufacturing division of Magna Closures, said the blast was due to a minor electrical explosion that was isolated to one manufacturing line.

The explosion occurred at the Dortec plant on 581 Newpark Blvd. just before 10 a.m., Central York Fire Services said. About 200 people work at the plant, which was evacuated.
