David Cameron arrives in US as Tory row over EU referendum continues

Prime minister David Cameron has arrived in the US for talks with president Barack Obama, leaving behind a fierce row within his Conservative party over the UK’s future within the European Union.

The Tory leader will attempt to highlight the benefits for Britain of a free trade deal between the EU and US today as he holds talks with Mr Obama in the White House.

The pair are due to hold a press conference in the Rose Garden at 4:15pm UK time.
