Daniel Morgan: New Probe Into Unsolved Murder

The unsolved murder of private investigator Daniel Morgan more than 25 years ago is to be investigated by an independent panel, the Home Secretary has announced.

Mr Morgan was killed in a pub car park in south east London on March 10 1987 in "one of the country's most notorious unsolved murder cases", Theresa May said.

After numerous separate police investigations into the case between 1987 and 2002, the Crown Prosecution Service discontinued the final attempted prosecution against five suspects in 2011.
