A policeman was paid more than £13,600 in compensation after he injured a big toe in a training exercise.

The extraordinary claim was made by a Suffolk Police officer after he was hurt during a health and safety drill.

It was one of 23 successful claims against the force which have seen more than £300,000 in compensation paid out to officers and staff since 2007.
