Afghanistan: Suspected gas poisoning hit Afghan girl school in N. city

More than 150 girl students were hospitalized as a possible gas poisoning hit a girl school in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital city of northern province of Balkh Tuesday morning, police said.

"A total of 150 students with Khorasan Girl High School were hospitalized Tuesday morning after they felt dizzy and several had fallen unconscious," deputy provincial police chief Abdul Razaq Qadiri told Xinhua.

An investigation has been initiated to find the fact behind the incident in the city 305 km north of Afghan capital Kabul, the police official added.

The Tuesday's incident is the forth such incident to take place recently in the country.
