Petrol station ATM blast: Man arrested over Hampshire explosion

A man has been arrested after a petrol station cash point was blown up.

Thieves detonated a device at the machine at Texaco in Amesbury Road, Weyhill, Hampshire, early on Sunday. No one was injured.

CCTV footage captured the blast which left bank notes strewn on the ground. It is not thought a significant amount of money was stolen.

A Bristol man was held on suspicion of theft and causing an explosion likely to endanger life or property.

The 26-year-old is currently in custody.
