Canada: restrictions in effect at three Southwest care centres following unidentified illness outbreaks

The list of Cypress Health Region long term care facilities where visiting restrictions are in place has grown to three, with the Palliser Regional Care Centre, the Swift Current Care Centre and the Gull Lake Care Centre all under 'outbreak' situations.

An outbreak was declared at the Palliser Regional Care Centre on Wednesday after 13 residents of the long-term care facility became ill with what has been identified as Influenza A.

The outbreak status at the Gull Lake Special Care Centre was issued early Thursday following the outbreak of an unidentified enteric illness. Two residents and three staff members were experiencing symptoms of the illness.
