Hundreds of New Yorkers pictured queueing for food at FEMA relief post as fall-out from Hurricane Sandy goes on

The Federal Emergency Management Agency said on Friday that it will extend a program to provide temporary housing to New Yorkers displaced by Hurricane Sandy for an additional month (pictured: hundreds of residents impacted by the storm receive donated supplies on Saturday in Coney Island). The extension will allow applicants, whose homes were damaged by the devastating storm, to stay in hotels or motels until appropriate accommodations become available.
