Manchester Terror Alert: All Clear After 'Suspicious Substance' Alert

Residents of six flats evacuated in Greater Manchester will be allowed to return to their homes after suspicious substances found during a police raid were declared safe.

Police investigating the possession and distribution of indecent images raided two houses in Horwich, near Bolton at around 10am.

During the search of one of the properties in Cheriton Gardens some suspicious substances were found and nearby flats were evacuated while they were investigated, Greater Manchester Police said.

"It is hoped that residents will be allowed to return to their properties within the hour," a spokeswoman said. Read More
