Martin Bunch Jailed for 27 years for the Murder of Jeanette Goodwin

A jealous lover has been jailed for 27 years for the 'savage and brutal' murder of his former partner after she chose to end their eight-year affair in a bid to rebuild her marriage.

Martin Bunch, 44, stalked his former lover Jeanette Goodwin for months before repeatedly stabbing her to death with a five-inch kitchen knife at her home in Southend, Essex, last July.

The killer had been unable to accept his eight-year affair with the married mother-of-three had come to an end and attacked her in front of her devastated husband of 21 years, Mark Goodwin.

Mrs Goodwin, 47, bled to death on her patio after receiving more than 30 stab wounds to the chest.

Judge Charles Gratwicke today FRI sentenced Bunch to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 27 years in prison. Read More
