Lasers pointed at cockpits of TWO aircraft at JFK airport being Investigated as three are sent to hospital

Police are investigating two laser pointer attacks to aircraft above the John F Kennedy Airport that first hit a landing charter flight before next targeting a helicopter dispatched to investigate.

Police in New York say the crew of Sun Country Airlines Flight 8800 out of Reykjavik, Iceland, reported the cockpit being hit by the dangerous beam on Tuesday evening.

Records show the Boeing 737-800 landed at Kennedy at 8.36 pm on a stopover to Minneapolis.

En route to investigate what is a federal crime that can cause temporary blindness to pilots, a police helicopter was hit minutes later by the alleged same beam.

Two officers and a medical technician on board that helicopter were treated at a hospital and released. Read More
