Melbourne woman admits assaulting toddler causing paralysis and brain injuries to the TWO year old Child

A Melbourne woman has admitted seriously injuring her young daughter by throwing her against a wall, but will fight a charge of negligence for failing to take her to hospital.

The mother, 25, was pregnant when she punched, kicked and threw the two-year-old child against the wall in November last year, the Melbourne Magistrates Court heard on Thursday.

The toddler suffered paralysis and brain injuries.

The court heard the woman made admissions to a doctor at Sunshine Hospital.

On Thursday the woman, who AAP is not naming for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to intentionally causing serious injury to the child.

But she indicated she would contest a charge of reckless conduct endangering life or serious injury. Read More
