Cyclist clue in body-on-beach probe in front of Castle Field, Southsea

Detectives investigating the murder of a man whose torso was found wrapped in a curtain on a beach are appealing for information about a cyclist who may have been seen riding a distinctive bike.

Hampshire Constabulary believe information about the black delivery bike could help with the inquiry into David Guy's death.

The 30-year-old's torso was found by a group of foreign students on Southsea beach, Portsmouth, in front of The Pyramids, shortly before 5.30pm on Tuesday.

The lower half of what appeared to be Mr Guy's body was found on the rocks at low tide in front of Castle Field, Southsea, by police search teams shortly after 8am on Friday, a police spokeswoman said.

Mr Guy had no fixed address but was believed to have been staying in the Southsea area before his death.

Detectives are appealing for any information about Mr Guy and would like to speak to his friends and associates. Read More
