Mexico braces for Hurricane Bud

Miami (CNN) -- Hurricane Bud weakened slightly early Friday as the storm packing 110 mph winds closed on the southwestern coast of Mexico, forecasters said.

"Some weakening is forecast on Friday, but Bud is still expected to reach the coast of Mexico as a hurricane," the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

The powerful Category 2 storm was 130 miles (210 km) southwest of Manzanillo and 195 miles (310 km) south of Cabo Corrientes at 5 a.m. ET. It was moving north-northeast at about 8 mph. Read More
