James Brown faces charges over murder of four women found dead in car trunks

A man has been charged in relation to the murder of four women whose bodies were found in Detroit last December, stuffed into the trunks of cars.

James Brown, 24, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, faces charges of dead bodies-disinterment of cousins Demesha Hunt, 25, and Renisha Landers, 24, and with arson and disinterment of Natasha Curtis, 29, and Vernithia McCrary, 28.

The bodies of Curtis and McCrary were found were found on Christmas day inside a burned car.

Six days earlier detectives had found Hunt and Landers dead in the trunk of a car elsewhere in the city.

Brown is not being charged with murder although an investigation is still on going. Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee said the delay in a homicide charge could hinge on the location of the murders. Read More
