Andy Coulson Detained Over Perjury Allegations

Former News Of The World editor Andy Coulson has been detained over allegations of perjury.

Mr Coulson was held on suspicion of committing the offence during the Tommy Sheridan trial at the High Court in Glasgow, the Crown Office said.

David Cameron's former communications chief was detained in London by officers from Strathclyde Police.

Mr Coulson gave evidence in Sheridan's trial in December 2010.

Sheridan was jailed for three years in January 2011 after being found guilty of perjury during his 2006 defamation action against the News Of The World (NOTW). Read more
