Two Polish immigrants who posed as decorators stole £300,000 worth of valuables from 114 homes in just 14 months

Two Polish immigrants who burgled over 100 homes and stole more than £300,000 worth of valuables have been jailed for seven years each.

Krzysztof Karmaciuk, 35, and Ryszard Elert, 37, turned to a life of crime after repeatedly being turned down for work as painters and decorators.

The pair became expert burglars and broke into a staggering 114 homes during a 14-month crime spree between October 2010 and December.

They targeted properties in isolated areas across five counties, stealing a total of £318,000 worth of items.

Homes in Shrewsbury, Newtown, Welshpool, Abermule and Montgomery in Shropshire and Mid Wales were among those raided.

They admitted carrying out 114 burglaries when they appeared at Mold Crown Court. Read More
