America’s most wanted paedophile, who has spent 17 years on the run, is fighting extradition to the U.S. on the grounds he will die in prison if convicted.

Shawn Sullivan, 42, who is married to a Ministry of Justice policy manager, claims he is at 'high risk' of being locked up for life in a detention centre in Minnesota - which would breach his human rights.

The predator has been wanted in the U.S. since 1994 for allegedly molesting two 11-year-old girls and having unlawful sex with a girl of 14.
