Moyra Liz As-Chainey was last seen two days ago at her home in Edderton, Easter Ross; Police Appeal

Police have issued a direct appeal to a missing teenage girl to get in touch as a major search for her resumed.

Moyra Liz As-Chainey, 16, was last seen two days ago at her home in the village of Edderton, Easter Ross.

Around 50 people took part yesterday in a large-scale hunt for the missing girl, whose disappearance is said to be totally out of character.

An RAF search and rescue helicopter, mountain rescue teams, coastguards, police and four search and rescue dogs were all involved in the operation to find the youngster.

The helicopter is not involved in today’s hunt but police teams - joined by partners from other agencies - were continuing a concentrated search in the Edderton area. Read More

Moyra, who is originally from the Netherlands, is about 5ft 7ins, with long brown hair and green eyes.

She was last seen at about 8.30am on Wednesday, wearing a navy blue fleece, black leggings and Ugg boots.
