Philip Austin Collins arrested in Peru after police 'find £150,000 worth of cocaine stashed in yacht fire extinguishers'

Rock star Phil Collins' nephew is being held in a Peruvian prison accused of trying to smuggle £150,000 worth of cocaine into Britain.

Philip Austin Collins was arrested alongside two other Britons after police allegedly found 40kg of the Class A drug on his yacht, docked near the capital of Lima.

The substance was reportedly hidden in fire extinguishers and gas cylinders in the cabin.

Officers swooped on the 37-year-old former pub owner, whose father Clive is musician Phil's brother, while he was onboard his 39ft boat the Audaciter.

Richard Marshall Crewe and Gareth John Young were detained as part of the investigation, alongside a Peruvian woman called Helena Ramírez Vargas.

Two houses in the capital of Lima were also raided in connection with the find, as police continued a month-long crackdown on alleged drug trafficking.

So far 27 people have been arrested and 5,000kg seized. Read More
