Pyongyang Parade To Mark Dear Leader's 70th



North Korea has staged a military parade to mark what would have been late leader Kim Jong-il's 70th birthday.

State television footage showed people gathered in the cold at the square outside Pyongyang's Kumsusan Memorial Palace on what has been named the "day of the shining star".

The ceremony was held to pledge the military's loyalty to Mr Kim's son and successor Kim Jong-un, an announcer said. Read More
