Mind if I start us off? Have any Christians here done a side by side comparison to see what events in Revelation have unfolded yet versus the disasters of the past few years?
I am also curious if anyone has compared the signs of the end of the world versus the present situation as detailed in the Quran. So far I have able to lock down two or thee, I believe, but I will have to conduct further study.
1. Hi Matt....question for you, as you might be able to help with this question...is Michael in Revelations supposed to be Jesus? (Second Coming)
(And Matt...l when I look up stuff on the internet there is SO many contradictions / untruths...I am better off getting books from the library....but then it is SO hard, searching for the answers).
I read on the internet that the Quran states that Jesus comes back the second time as a Muslim...but don't know if that is truely in the Quran.

If this is just going to be wierdo's blogging then I am out of here.
I will say this once, if this page starts turning into an argument I will close it.
Either play nice, respect each other or go somewhere else.
All God are One!! He has created us all!! God created this Universe, the humans, plants, animals, planets, stars! He never told us to draw borders between us and start up fights, piling up deadly nukes that could wipe out everything!! Humans made all these borders, territorial borders, linguistic borders, religion, etc., based on which we quarell/fight!! Try thinking over these limitz! Feel we are all one!

In The Great Book Of The Revelation Chapter 8 There Is A Golden ALtar, At The Throne Of God
Throughout History Or The Word Of God,God Has Told His Prophets To Build Altars.
Michael is often portrayed as a general in charge of God's divisions here on Earth and elsewhere, and is separate from Jesus. As for the Quran, it does not state Jesus will be returning, but rather that he is in heaven along with the other messengers waiting to bear witness against those who did not heed his words.
Also, let's refrain from calling other people names, please. This special area is among the only on the web where people can share and discuss faith and scripture alongside factual news and information in safety and comfort.

Barb, I feel that I must respectfully point out to you that asking what heritage Jesus will be when He comes back does't quite make sense...He has already died as a human being and has been transformed into His heavenly/spiritual form from His physical one, as will the true followers/believers of Christ will be also when He soon returns. There is no need for Him to come back as a Jew or Muslim or any other humanly/carnal bloodline oriented form. As the Bible says as anon has pointed out above, He will come back as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Now if you are talking about the Antichrist, that is a completely different story. The AC WILL be physically present on Earth as living human being during the Tribulation and WILL have a particular bloodline/religious orientation. If you truly study to show yourself approved, these two cases clearly would not be confused.

I want to say I agree with David in Thanking Coming Crisis for all that they do.
Eschatology is a widely studied topic and I am so surprised that the question that Matthew has laid out for us on February 10th has not been directly addressed.
I know that there are many books / studies on at least part of the question which is:
"Have any Christians here done a side by side comparison to see what events in Revelation have unfolded yet versus the disasters of the past few years? "
I would love to direct you to Matthew 24:3-51 Where Jesus disciples ask him privately "When will this take place and what will be the sign of Your coming and of the end of the age?"
Jesus then gives a description / a declaration of the end of age:
False Profits, Rumors of wars "but the end is not yet", famines, earthquakes "in place after place","All this is but the beginning of the birth pangs", personal suffering and affliction, Christ followers will be put to death and hated, hearts will be harden. At the end of verse 14 it says "and then will come the end"
Verse 15 continues to describe the end and it sounds fast, that people will not have time to prepare or even to get their provisions if they had prepared.
Take note of Verse 22 -"IF those days had not been shortened, no human being would endure and survive" ( I linger a bit on the word "IF" )
In Verse 30 we see what many call The Second Coming
Many Theologians have pondered the meaning in Verse 34 wondering to which generation Jesus speaks of
He says that NO ONE will know the day or hour of these things just as in the days of Noah. You can be warned, watchful but the day will come quickly and without warning.
Verse 40 is the only place, that I am aware, in the bible that speaks of what many call the Rapture.
My favorite of all these verses, warnings, hints is <3 Verse 45 - if you get nothing out of reading these verses please just take this away:
45: Who then is the faithful, thoughtful and wise servant, whom his master has put in charge of his household to give to the others the food and supplies at the proper time?
46: Blessed is that servant whom, when his master comes, he will find so doing.
The rest is to those who choose self preservation and wickedness.
Mark also gives his account of what Jesus said to that question in Mark 13
In Ezekiel 38:19
".....Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking (amplified bible says Cosmic catastrophe) in the land of Isreal.
In Revelation 16:18
And there followed lightning flashes, loud rumblings, peals of thunder and a tremendous earthquake; nothing like it has ever occurred since men dwelt on the earth, so severe and far-reaching was that earthquake
I leave you to draw your own conclusions to what these verses are saying.
This is new and it makes The Coming Crisis all that much better. Anonymous thanks for the post of Genesis 1:26. I never caught that. As for the tribulation if you read Daniel 9.27 The abomination of desolation has already happen. I believe the 7 year trib thing is made up. I think most likly what is going to happen is a fake trib and a fake return of Jesus. Then when the real Jesus comes few will be ready for him because they will have thought he already came. The antichrist has already came and has been here for many years. Sorry anoymous I can't just make a name up so I guess there are going to be many anonymous.

I would like to pose a general question regarding God's influence in our world. First - let me say I am a believer. My question is about "TRUST". Many talk about trust and faith in God. People have different opinions as to what this means. I am confused by it and I want to educate myself spiritually. We all know that good and bad things happen to everyone. It does not matter if you are a Christian or an Atheist. So, my question is, "What exactly are we supposed to have faith and trust in?" Is it our salvation? It can't be anything we experience here on earth. Some prayers are answered while others are not. Like I said, Good and bad happens to all. I'd really like to hear your comments...thank you.
As I see it, trusting in God means accepting all things in life as a test: the good sees whether we'll remember, the bad tests whether we'll hold on. God does indeed answer every prayer, it's just that sometimes He says "no" and some have difficulty accepting that. In the Quran, just such a challenge is addressed: "...and perhaps you may hate something while it is good for you, and perhaps you may love something while it is bad for you; God knows while you do not know." - 2:216

And In Truth By All, Jesus Did'nt Build An Altar Here He Was And Is The Lamb Of God Everywhere He Went, Heaven Was With Him He Was And Is All So Holy And His Crown Never Faded
Hes From Glory To Glory And He Is So Awesome That He Builds All wall Of Fire Around Us He
