8 EU presidents meet in shadow of Europ crisis

HELSINKI (AP) -- Presidents from eight European Union countries have urged a quick solution to the financial woes that continue to plague the continent and threaten Greece's future in the eurozone.

Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva says he would like to see the word "crisis" no longer connected to the 12-member bloc, because it overshadows other important issues that need attention.

Italian President Giorgio Napolitano on Saturday called for "a new wave of sustainable growth" for the whole of Europe.

The leaders were speaking at the end of two days of informal meetings hosted by Finnish President Tarja Halonen. Others present included Austrian, German, Hungarian, Latvian and Slovenian heads of state. Source
