2 women, possibly from Taiwan, found fatally stabbed in Tokyo apartment

Two young women believed to be Taiwanese nationals were found collapsed in a Tokyo apartment Thursday morning with stab wounds to their necks, police said.

The women were taken to hospital but confirmed dead shortly after noon, the police said, adding they were believed to be students of a Japanese-language school.

Two male Taiwanese nationals, who live in the same apartment building in Tokyo's Taito Ward and study at the same language school, had waited for one of the victims at the front gate of the building to go on a trip. But she did not show up at the appointed time of 9:30 a.m., the police said.

Two of the language school's teachers, who were contacted by the male students, used a duplicate key to enter the victims' apartment and found them collapsed, the police said.

Tokyo police said they are investigating the incident as possible murder. Source
