Quite a rattle in the begining sounded like a truck driving by.. Then the rattle turned into a strong rattle - it slowed down and I breathed then it started again and again stronger - now my computer screen was shaking - so I decided to really get up and fast .. It really felt like this earthquake was trying to break free - so you see why - I think this is because for the whole time of the earthquake (which was about 40 seconds) the ground didnt sway, like it was releasing it self - It just felt like it was wanting to really release - but couldn't ... Thanks (nz) And btw this was with regards to the earthquake yesterday in Nz - which now now has 2 magnitude recordings 5.7 and 5.3?
I have home in Loreto, need news of damage in area.
Hi the epicenter of this mornings earthquake in Baja California was 50km from Northwest of Loreto..
At the moment (also checked Spanish news in Baja California) there are no reports of damage or injuries at this time.
There's been a little seismic activity at Mt St Helens, Washington today. This may be one to watch....
Nick
Hi Nick (nz) here .. Just a quick question on this really - What makes you say regarding the seismic activity in Washington, one to watch - im quite curious, Regards ...
Hi Nick...remember we were talking about "New World Order"...well, talking to a Jewish guy down at the shops, and also I looked it up on internet....the Jewish religion also have "info" on the "New World", one that is quite peaceful etc. (Any Jewish person reading this...would like your input/info)
Hi Anon (nz), hope you are well.
Kind Regards Barb
PS Going off ...to do my "click" on the ads!!!
Hi Anon (nz)...do you "feel" what is "happening"...the collapse of the financial world...the impending "World War"...
IF...and I say "IF" we can all help each other...this will be "diverted"...
Are you there Anon (nz)....??? Kind regards Barb
Hi NZ, I said it's one to watch due to the volcanic activity of Mount St Helens is relative recent time. It is an active volcano and it has potential to be very destructive.
That isn't to say I think an eruption is due. It's just an area that warrants being looked at. Earthquakes do occur in close vicinity to volcanoes without triggering anything further but they can also be a sign of an eruption.
Nick
But Nick...do you have any "concrete evidence" of this...and I don't mean "bloggers"...or "specultion on the internet"...or reports from "geoscientists"...I mean, real "concrete evidence"
Kind Regards Barb
xx
Hi Barb,
most, if not all religions mention peace and a new world in their scriptures. Sometimes the new world is the afterlife in heaven, sometimes it's open to interpretation. Personally, i'm not a big believer in religions as I think they are a creation of man. Many people claim to have received God's word in order to create religions and lead other people, but even today, many people claim they are doing the Lord's work. George Bush was an excellent example of this. In fact, just look at most of the world's leaders at the moment and throughout history. They tend to claim that God is on their side..usually during wars and the build up to wars. This seriously cannot be right can it? God telling people to kill eachother.
Also, when I look at the vast power and control that various belief systems have on people, I have doubts about the intentions of the people pushing those systems. Money is usually a key factor. Another key point is the control of people through fear. This is very much evident in religions in years gone by and even now.
This is also where faith comes into things. I simply cannot accept many things which people say are based on visions as well as second and third hand stories that are passed on through generations. It is in my nature to question things and as a result of that, I find too many faults with religions and rational explanations behind many of the claims. I've had drawn out conversations with believers though and i've accepted their opinion that I am damned to an eternity in hell because of my lack of faith.....but it's not too late though, so they tell me. That same promise of salvation is also open for murderers, mass murderers, child rapists, sadistic torturers, abusers etc, etc. Basically, the people who destroy the lives of others and heap misery onto millions are welcome to a blissful afterlife if they accept the word of God. It just doesn't seem right to me.
I DO believe in God though.
Nick
Evidence of what? Mount St Helens being an active volcano? That is fact Barb. Just 30 years ago (which is very, very recent in the history of the world) it caused the deadliest eruption to human life in the United States. The eruption was caused by an earthquake. Less powerful eruptions continued for a few years after that too. There has also been more recent activity too..usually associated with seismic activity.
You can't get any more concrete evidence than that.
Nick
Hi Nick...I agree with all that you say....not kidding!!!
Love Barb xx
Seems to be an increase of volcanic activity...what do you reckon Lynsey????
Kind Regards Barb
Ok jealous now - Nick your getting kisses and love from Barb lol Were did I get too - ah on a more serious note .. Yes Barb I do feel what your saying - pending financial gloom - world war .. Also the earthquake we had here in Wellington - Felt - very abnormal with my above first comment on this months page - that aside life carrys on right Nick with all the kisses .. Life goes on and we dont know - we are not in the loop to make such judgements because quite frankly we are left in the dark - Which is why The Coming Crisis is here to try and figure out .. (nz) ...
Yes Barb if we all help - it could be diverted but we just dont know how to get on .. Our human race - it takes a higher dimension of thinking and doing things differently - this current system is obviously not working as we know - so I might call in my consultants from from pluto to give us a demonstration on how a world does not go into war poverty disease and the rest ... Peace and Love (nz)
Hi Barb, Sorry for the delay just got back,
there does seem to be few volcanoes on watch at the moment, posted another one earlier in Indonesia.
Will check for an overall outlook on activity this afternoon and list an update of current active volcanoes.
Kind Regards
Lynsey
Life does carry on NZ.
The world has seen peaks and troughs with volcanoes and earthquakes before, and the world will see them again, long after we have witnessed them. Many people are associating them with 2012 thanks to a lot of misinformation regarding the Mayan calendar. They're more than entitled to do that but it must make life rather unsettling for many people.
As i've said before, i've no problem with people preparing for disasters as they do happen. There's a very good NASA video which has done the rounds over the past few months which was aimed at encouraging NASA staff to have emergency preparedness measures in place if a disaster does happen. It was straight forward, common sense stuff but unfortunately, some conspiracy theorists decided that the video was proof that something bad was about to happen. Anyway, the video advised on things to consider if something did happen and what to have at hand in terms of first aid, supplies, fresh water, family meeting points, communication etc. Again, this is all common sense. Most people have torches with fresh batteries or candles/matches in their homes in case of a power cut so it makes sense to be prepared for something that may have a more severe or longer lasting impact.
If something is going to happen, we'd be the last to know in most cases but considering all the leaks we've seen in the past few years in terms of US military scandals and operations, government expenses/finances/scandals/affairs etc etc, something credible would've slipped out by now. Add to that the other nations around the world who have advanced enough technology on the ground and in space and a general vested interest in tension with the West and i'm confident that any such proof/news would've come out somehow and we'd have much more than half baked theories from people with YouTube accounts to go on...this isn't a dig at anyone in particular, there are just so many misinformation videos on YouTube (as well as other forums etc) that are purely designed to scare people. Videos titled with things like 'Elenin/YU55 will hit the earth - 100% Proof' do have an effect on how people live their lives and it's not right. It's on the same lines as Harald Camping fleecing money from people who put their trust and faith in his predictions for rapture.
But yeah..life goes on, as it has done for the people who sold their homes to give the proceeds to Camping. If you have a clear night in NZ, have a look at the moon, you should see Jupiter close by perfectly well with the naked eye. It's a sight that amazes me each night when I take the dog for a walk. Life goes on :)
Nick
We just had another earthquake funny that two in a week now .. Was not as powerful as the first one but again a good rattle and shake ... About 4 seconds again .. No swaying ... (nz)
Hi my Anon nz...saw Chili been hit with a 6.1, described as "dangerous".
Who are "your consultants from Pluto"???
Your Barb.
My Anon nz...I didn't know yours was the first comment...didn't sound like you at all.
Though I have given up on dates (like Camping!!)..I don't like the eclipse/astrology this saturday, 10th December...the moon turns blood red & then is totally eclipsed by the sun....is not a good "sign"...to do with "evil deeds"
But on the otherhand the astrology for 24th December is interesting..have only just found out that no where in the bible does it give Jesus's birth for 25th December...speculation that maybe he was actually concieved on this date. So...with "special" astrology happening on 24th December...could be something "good" being "concieved". Fingers crossed.
We don't get news here in Melbounre about NZ earthquakes...in fact....we don't even get news about how the people in Queensland are coping after the floods, even my relative in Qld dosen't know!!
Are your "consultants from Pluto" aliens????!!
Your Barb
Just wondering...if this 6.1 earthquake in Chili (read now on internet that it is not dangerous)...if it can effect the volcanoe there?
Barb
why would you take the live chat down?
It wasn't really working with the site, and readers seem to prefer to leave messages for others since they're all in different timezones, countries and so on, and it lets them communicate despite that situation. We returned it to its previous state so that the majority of readers could enjoy the method of communication they liked best.
Quakes can definitely affect volcanoes, and sometimes even signal that one is about to erupt; in South America that can be especially important due to the fact there are hundreds of volcanoes linked together in that area, which I suppose makes for a scary situation.
Ta Matt...any nuclear plants in South America???
Kind Regards Barb
Just googled my own question...came up with "6 nuclear plants for south america"
not sure how up todate this info is.
Kind Regards Barb
Hi to all from NZ, I have just stumbled on this site: Very interesting; I sure will be popping in often!!
New Zealanders: Well Wellington really did get a bit of a waking up didn’t it? It’s a bit of a worry with all the old un-reinforced buildings around NZ that the authorities have let get into such states. I don’t think there is a town that you can drive thru that hasn’t got dangerous looking buildings lining their main streets. Interesting times ahead, I think Christchurch may have just been the beginning.
Is the news getting worse...ie.volcanoes erupting / trouble in MIddle East / debt crisis / floods / famine / plagues...or is it just me full of fear???
Kind regards Barb
Oh where is my Anon nz to calm me down???
It's the 10 december tomorrow...astrology NOT good...Barb
Just been looking at astrology again for Dec 10th (tomorrow) the lunar eclipse....the EU comes up...so does "War"...but a few have mentioned "Syria" & "danger"....
Barb
Hi Barb, try not to put too much faith in astrology predictions? Many such predictions have been made on previous lunar/solar eclipse dates but as far as I know, they didn't come to fruition. I've just used Wikipedia to check a couple of recent lunar eclipse dates for anything unusual on those days and nothing came back. They tend to occur at least once a year so they're easy targets for predictions.
If astrologers are using tomorrow's lunar eclipse to predict forthcoming events in the Middle East or Europe, then they're basically using 'forer effects'. We have seen severe issues in Europe and the Middle East for quite some time now (for the best part of the year so far in terms of the Arab Spring and failing euro), so it stands to reason that these places will feature in the news tomorrow. I'd be pretty impressed with such predictions if they mentioned a completely out of the blue event that occurred on a certain day.
If I may make a bold prediction...
The Middle East/Syria and/or EU financial crisis will continue to dominate the news headlines till at least the next annual solar eclipse on 20th May 2012.
Mark this date on your calendar and if the Middle East or the EU financial crisis is in the news on that day, I will proclaim myself to be a prophet ;)
I'm not a believer in fortune telling and/or astrology. I think personal predictions can be used to fit everyone in some way or another (as proved by Derren Brown and many other people). Many people who believe in them tend to dismiss everything that doesn't fit and are amazed at things that vaguely fit. Mind you, that is exactly what my star sign says about me ;)
Nick
HI Nick...remember I blogged before...that I didn't take astrology seriously till last years "Grand Cardinal Cross"...astrologists around the world had never seeen anything like it before.
Now...under a news segment on this site I blogged the following, but not on this chat page, but will repeat it now for those who didn't see it:
Nostradamus predicts the 3rd Anti Christ as Mabus" & "Pres" (presidents??)
Look at this:
obama bush
obamabush
obaMABUSh
Clever eh?...Kind Regards Barb
Just remembered something...didn't Syria say that if there was military intervention by the US & co..."that the Middle East will Burn"???
Kind Regards Barb
That's precisely what they said Barb, and it's looking more and and more every single day that such a scenario is going to happen. 2012 is going to be one heck of a year if that region does erupt.
Hi Barb sorry im getting out of sync with all life and its woes over here .. But yes it does to me - still seem like this little planet is ready for a big disaster in one way or the other ! Also I always sign out with (nz) Barb get in contact ... (nz) ..
Hi anon (nz)...you online now?
Hi Mat....might come soon...before xmas...Kind Regards Barb
Mat...did you see there was a 4.9 hit Iran on 9th dec?
(Havn't checked to see if it was posted on this site)
Going off to the shops now...Barb
I recall Lynsey mentioning something about that. Iran is subject to many quakes, so many that they're considering moving their capital city because of it.
Hi Barb & Matt,
Many Middle Eastern leaders have used rhetoric with words such as 'burn' to push their propaganda. It's nothing new. We've seen Iranian leaders stating that Israel should be wiped off the map and equal amount of hostile verbage directed back at Iran. I'm not making light of the crisis in the ME as it has potential to get a lot worse for many people around the world...it is already a very serious problem for people who live in that area. When I look at things rationally, I tell myself that there has been conflict in the ME for many hundreds of years and threats and posturing have been part and parcel of that all through this time. I sincerely hope we see peace in that area soon, but I know that isn't very likely considering history.
The Mabus thing is widely regarded as a hoax or simply a mis-interpretation. I've just read a little about it and i'm not convinced there is a link there between Obama and Bush. If Nostradamus included the names Obama and Bush in his works, i'd be quite impressed. It seems people many years after Nostradamus made the link themselves....which is just the same with quite a few of his predictions, especially about 9/11. The power lies in the interpretation not in the literal translation.
Anyway, I hope the lunar eclipse completes without any crazy news...my reputation is at stake here! If I recall correctly Barb, you're in Australia. If that's right and I can assure you that i'm just using memory and not psychic powers to get your location, you should have a good view of the lunar eclipse. Anon NZ and Matt should be able to see it too. Would be cool if you could post some photos please?
Nick
Its good to see us Aussies doing our bit to keep you guys up and running and bringing us the news!
Some nice videos of the lunar eclipse...thanks :)
I didn't see much from the UK but Jupiter is still very visible which makes up for things a little bit.
Just seen the latest video from Patriotic Truther. The comment about sharks getting more inland made me giggle....I know what he meant though :) I'd love to know more about his views on the stars on buildings and 9-11. I really wish he would go into more detail on things. It is my only criticism of his videos. He just tends to make a statement without going into any detail. I can debate opinions all day long but it's better when there is some substance attached to them.
It was interesting hearing about his dreams. I've had a few weird disaster dreams lately. One was about an earthquake in Australia, it was very vague though so can't recall much about it. Another was about Yellowstone caldera erupting. In the latter dream I was rock climbing in Yosemite national park and everything was so vivid. The colours of the rocks and the wildlife too. There was an almighty explosion,a real shudder and a huge vibration. The rest of the dream was about me trying to escape...it was just like a movie!
These dreams have only really happened (regularly) since I immersed myself in sites like this, so imo, it's no surprise that i've had some dreams that have related to the issues i've been reading about lately. Even though dreams occur in our subconscious state, the conscious mind and what it has seen/heard/talked about often trigger dreams. Some people have nightmates after watching horror movies. Other people dream about holiday destinations after watching certain programmes on TV.
Nick
Aussie Aussie Aussie !!! !
Lets do it again Aussies, keep clicking...beat the others, especially the poms (like Nick!!!)
Kind Regards Barb
God bless the Aussies...without you, our pubs wouldn't be able to function due to the lack of staff ;)
Nick
Did notice the HUGE pommy beer bellies....
Probably why poms aren't clicking on enough ads...hard work leaning over those jelly bellies to reach the clicker...
Lol...very good but unlike many Brits, i'm pretty fit Barb. I play rugby and workout regularly.
Just noticed a big quake in Mexico. 6.8 preliminary magnitude which is pretty big. Fairly shallow too at 58km. Hope it didn't result in any loss of life or much damage.
Nick
Mat...just saw Mexico got a 6.7 or 6.8...and Japan a 5.7
Any news on damage?
Barb
Earthquake in Guerrero, Mexico downgraded to 6.7M but that is still extremely powerful. No alignment with 'Elenin' either....
Nick
Thanks guys, I'm studying the quakes now.
Re: mexico earthquake...don't forget the eclipse of the full moon last night Nick (slight increase in earthquakes when there is a lunar eclipse)...or maybe it was a UK jelly belly stepping in front of the moon...!!
Believe 2 dead in mexico...
Barb
I can confirm that, two are indeed dead.
Gone up to 3 now I believe...
And come on Aussies keep on clicking!!...the Jelly Bellies should all be fast asleep in bed now (why not Nick?)...so we can out-click them!!! Tell your Aussie friends to click too...see if we can get a third day.
AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE !!!!
Barb
Nick's purpose in life is to aggravate me with his comments, and that's a 24 hour job, I assume.
Mat, I actually thought of buying & sending him some sleeping tablets....
Where is he now?...I bet he is off googling "lunar eclipses & earthquakes"...and he will be back to blog that my above statement is untrue etc etc!!!!
Barb
I hit him over the head with a giant mallet. He'll be down for a while.
oooohhhhh....wait till Nick see's our comments....we are going to have one mile comments back from him...unless his Mum sends him to school tomorrow...
Mat...any news on Japan earthquake?...like isn't 5.8 big?...and was it in the sea?...(am not good at reading earthquake reports)
Kind Regards Barb
PS are Aussies in front on the clicking???
Anything 4+ can cause damage if it's in the right location, such as near a city. A 5.x out in the ocean won't do very damage. But a 5.x near a city can cause significant damage, like what was seen in Spain a few months ago. As for Japan's, it's a sparsely populated area, so I imagine the damage was limited. As for which nation is winning the race, I'll know in the reports tomorrow.
My Anon nz...you anywhere near the 4.5 mag??
Your Barb
Thanks for all the nice comments guys.
@Barb, you're misguided regarding a link between lunar eclipses and earthquakes. I won't bore you with the facts in great detail as you will no doubt ignore them for a baseless opinion that suits your point of view. All I will say is look at the worldwide earthquake stats and you will see that quakes continue to occur at the 'expected' rate regardless of a lunar eclipse.
Also, ask yourself why there wasn't a mega-quake given the alignment of the biggest body in our solar system and the earth and moon at the very same time? I don't understand, especially when Elenin was supposedly capable of causing a 9.0M earthquake when it was 2.143AUs from the earth and was only 2km in mass? When you look at the bigger picture, things sometimes become a little clearer.
We've certainly seen a few sizeable earthquakes today. For many, this no doubt proves a link between quakes and lunar eclipses. However, we've seen fairly big earthquakes every day for the past week. The people who claim a link, then change the goal posts by saying there is an increased link for 16+ days either side of the eclipse. Yet again though, expand the search and sizeable (5.0M+) earthquakes have occurred everyday since records began. As far as I know, we haven't had a lunar eclipse every 16 days since then.
If someone is ignorant of all the facts, then it's no surprise their conclusions are often faulty.
I hope this reply isn't too long for you Barb. My Mum allowed me to delay my homework and chores especially so I could send it to you.
Must dash now though, it's time for my bath and bedtime story ;)
A 5.8M quake is pretty powerful Barb. Most of Japan's quakes occur off the East coast due to the subduction zone of the converging plates. As Matt said, a 5.8M quake is certainly capable of causing considerable damage in built up areas. The damage isn't as noticeable when the quake occurs in the ocean...unless it triggers a tsunami.
Nick
My pleasure, Nick. Think of it as a Christmas mallet!
Bah humbug!
I've responded with my Christmas once a day click ;)
Nick
*in the voice of Tiny Tim* ...God bless everyone!
What does everyone think about the situation unfolding in Syria?
It's looking pretty grim imo Matt. Not a day goes by without reports of fresh violence and deaths. I cannot believe it took so long for the Arab League to think about sanctions...and if i'm brutally honest, the suspension of Syria's membership was never likely to get the message across. The response and reactions from various bodies and governments perfectly highlights the dirty world of politics. Months upon months of killing innocent people and foreign leaders, the UN and the Arab League have pretty much tutted a few times, shrugged their shoulders, released a few sound bites to the press and looked the other way. I wonder if things would've been different if Syria was a major oil producing nation?!
Assad is a callous man to admit to feeling no guilt for what his military are doing to his own subjects. No doubt many deaths are a direct or indirect result of his orders. I hope he listens to the people and steps down but so much damage is already done. It'll take many generations to just get over this....it'll never be forgotten, let alone forgiven.
Nick
Go Nick! It would be boring if everyone had the same opinions.
Syria, Russia, Iran, Israel etc, unrest is being fuelled everywhere, it's a time-bomb waiting to go off!
Hi Anon 12th December...go back to Nick's comments dated 10/12...it's "Nothing new" & "There has been conflict in the Middle East for 100's of years"
This is in response to my email dated 9th December.
Basically, whatever anyone blogs, Nick states the opposite.
Kind Regards Barb
ooohhh...no resposne from Nick as yet...probably at school...
Good morning Barb. Perhaps you should try reading my posts properly instead of picking out single comments to make sweeping generalisations. I would also recommend you picking up a history book too. My comment about there being conflict in the Middle East for hundreds of years is factually correct. The 'nothing new' comment was directed at the rhetoric from Assad should the West intervene in Syria. Rhetoric is nothing new between leaders of nations...especially in the Middle East where there has been lots of conflict. Leaders make threats to other leaders and they usually respond with more threats.
I'm not sure why you seem to have such a problem with facts, you seem to respond in the same manner with regards to facts on earthquakes, lunar eclipses and most other things I comment on. I prefer to rely on facts instead of putting my faith into astrology and psychic predictions etc. I've no problem if that works for you though.
As for the 'whatever anyone blogs, Nick states the opposite' comment. That is just ridiculous. I agree with many comments and articles posted on here and I do say as much, but I do like to counter baseless claims with fact and accepted hypothesis.
If you disagree with my posts, I have absolutely no problem with that and would welcome you to discuss them with me....after all, this is what i've done when replying to your posts. So far your 'jelly belly' theory and comments on my Mum haven't really done you any justice ;)
Nick
Ohh lol Barb...your razor sharp wit is second to none!
Yes, I am at school. This is where I learn the difference between fact and fiction ;)
Nick
So you ARE a school kid!!!!!!!
No i'm not Barb, I was being flippant in response to your facetious comments.
It kinda went over your head though.
So, would you like to comment on my posts above or would you rather talk about my educational background? ;)
Nick
Hi Nick,
Been nice talking to you...am busy with xmas so won't be able to continue.
Kind Regards
Barb
K Barb, I hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas :)
Nick
Hi Nick...you ever need to contact me...just email Mat/Lynsey...
Have a nice xmas...Kind Regards Barb xx
Surely Jonny Wilkinson's retirement is worthy of an article??? ;)
Nick
Lol Nick and Barb mallets and school books ! Not sure what I was going to say after reading all of that - ah yes - to my Barb sorry I havent been on line I know you have been looking for me and we have missed each other every time .. Im just dealing with allot of heavy stuff around here - home wellington .. No wonder we have had a couple of earthquakes lately .. So I do apologise in advance - looks like my fellow pom Nick has been doing a good job lol (nz picks up a mallet in his hand lol) at Nick yes im from the mother land been living in nz for the last nine years .. You should come over Nick and feel a first hand earthquake for yourself - if you time it right .. And thats meant in positive way of course :-D On the other side of things - the earthquakes we had in wellington a week ago es so actually put me on edge because im sure it was tying to release itself by the swaying motion kind... (Pls see m earlier comments) This is my belief that when it does that it is releasing it self instead of shaking trying to release which it did last two times.. So I was/have been expecting another one, bigger .. But I thought it might have happened last night at the latest .. But what do I know, it could go either way.. Now war and finance - well well this is where I would get expert advice from Nick to step in with expert advice ;-) however ill give my two cents - yes this world is on tender hooks right now with the eurozone and war in syria ! And both could spread out of control, thats the roots in it all really and barb is quite right to feel the way she does - its a real threat right now .. Now now did I metion earthquakes and alignments Nick .. Could there be another big one after all the other big ones lately .. Hell yeah .. It could be anytime for all three events really, that I have just mentioned oh and wellington too! ... So does that create lots and lots of pressure on people and energy too might I say ... Well folks thats me for now .. I might start sighning out with my real name soon - but kind regards as usual to you all - Peace and Love (nz) :-D
Hi Anon nz...am a pom too (but don't tell Nick!!!)..born England, lived North Wales.
Whats you real name?..... PLEASE???
Kind Regards Barb
Ha ha Barb - My real name is Dean ! (nz) How are you going hun :-)
Hi Barb and Dean, it's nice to know you're both poms. What took you both down under?
Dean, i'd love to visit NZ one day. The Kiwis have some amazing scenery, geology and culture etc. It would've been nice a couple of months ago for the RWC, but considering England's performances on and off the pitch, i'm kinda glad I didn't waste my money!
You said some interesting things about quakes releasing themselves..that is exactly what they do. They release energy....unless I misunderstood what you were trying to say?
We may well see another big quake somewhere today, or sometime soon, but i'm confident that it will have nothing to do with an alignment. Put it this way, every day I fart we will see earthquakes. Considering I break wind every day (sorry ladies but I am a bloke!), there will be quakes everyday. So, is there a link between me cutting the cheese and earthquakes? Of course not but imo, this is just as valid a theory as things like alignments/eclipses triggering quakes because the pattern supports it...regardless that the overwhelming evidence and facts surrounding plate tectonics show the answer lies elsewhere.
I agree with your point about all the things happening around the world creating lots of pressure on people.
Nick
Ha ha yeah Nick I think you understand what I was saying about the releasing of an earthquake - thank you Nick - cheers Dean
Hi my Dean...
Over here no news on NZ earthquakes...and the 2 earthquake websites I visit not listing them either...(don't know what is going on)...thankful this website lists them.
I believe things will get much worse...one of the things worries me is the extinction of bee's...80% of our food relies on pollination...goodbye bee's, goodbye food.
We are doing a good job of destroying our home.
I wish also that there were bloggers from the Middle East, who could tell us what is really going on...I suspect the media is telling us a heap of porkie pies (see, now you can tell am a pom!!!)
Kind Regards Barb
Ah Barb - Yes yes - without bee's, opps their goes the neighborhood!! Yes yes and that would be informative if we had coverage from middle east
porkie pies (see, now you can tell am a pom!!!)
What got you to Aussie Barb.. In case me and Nick visit for a glass of red ??
... Dean ( :
I came here when I was 6 months old, went back to UK when I was 8yrs...so Aussie was my "home"...all it did in the UK was rain/snow...and everyone miserable!!
You online now?
No ads to click on?
Kind Regards Barb
They'll be appearing in just a few hours!
Barb im here now .. Just on my phone which is really hard work :-) Dean
useless phone...........
Lynsey...re: the segment on swine flu in US....when I found out on the internet about whooping cough epidemic in Melbounre I also found out swine flu was going
around too...but not a word in the media.
You have to wonder about our media.
Kind Regards Barb
I went to date earlier this year but the payment was going to show up as 'Comrade' something or otherwhich put me off. If this has changed to something 'normal' I will gladly donate!
Morning Anon @ 1:37 AM, Comrade was the earlier email when the site just opened which has since been changed.

What's happened to the ads? Is it just donations from now on?
Nick
Hi Nick, There has been a problem with the ads, they started appearing everywhere they even started putting them in nearly all the articles which was causing script to become unresponsive.
We are trying to find a fine balance to keep the site going without having it affect the site, because of the 24 hour updates we do not have the time for computers to crash or slowing loading time for readers with some company overloading the site with ads.
During this month we are working on many additions and improvements.
Any suggestions are always welcome.
Cheers Lynsey..
How much revenue was made per ad click?
Nick
adbrite paid 2.38 $ for 28 clicks and 13000 impressions so I think it worked out about 2 cents a click for this they flooded the website with banners, pop ups and links in articles.
Losing allot of time waiting for pages to load to enable me to update or the script became unresponsive., Im sure this would of also happened to other readers trying to read the site.
Dean / Anon nz...you okay?.
Just watching Aussie news...nothing on earthquakes /landslides in NZ...thats why we need this site....media is getting worse.

Thanks for your comment CJ, will be looking into the links and get them posted for you.
They say things go in Three's, Osama Dead, Gadaffy Dead, Kim jol, these deaths all in 2011; that does not mean the terror is over, others will rise up and try to contiue the assult on mankind and yet other's will rise up and stand up for what is right, last week I viewed the slaughter of the defenseless sheep It was so sad to view mostly because the compassion of our military for the animals in those countries was
so comforting I remember the loyal dog staying by the soldiers casket and the awesome stories of the care our servicemen showed for these animals, and all of a sudden a video is shown of our service laughing at the slaughter of a defenseless sheep with a baseball bat so sad.
I never seen these three men slaughter
anyone however I heard of the orders they gave to kill, steal, and destroy lives, their people dont know the evil behind the scenes, we dont know the behind the scenes action our servicemen do until it leaks out. I hope and pray that our servicemen remembers where they came out from and appreciate the goodness of whats awaiting them here at home,
servicemen and women of our armed servicses remember the loyal dog and show compassion to the
animals who think they could trust you.
Hi Nick...I know what you mean....Aussie soldiers are coming back from the Middle East & committing suicide, it's not in the media much...I tried to google a story to send to Mat/Lynsey...but when I read on the internet about an Aussie soldier witnessing the rape of a child I had to get out of the internet....I couldn't cope.
What the hell is going on over there in Iraq & Afganistan?????
Kind Regards Barb
And Nick...I know, when you were writing the above blog...that you were thinking of your dog...
I have a kitty-kat..."Gizmo"...
Hello, Nicholas. Surely, judging by the tremendous wisdom you scatter across a variety of our stories in the form of frown-inducing comments, you know nearly everything about everything, so perhaps you could tell *us* what is going on at El Hierro? That would be a fun change, I think.
I don't believe there has been any significant activity there in some time, but that could be a case of reporting fatigue, and I'll ask Lynsey to look into it to see if anything has occurred.
May your Christmas Season be full of oranges and chocolate, and just enough egg nog so that merriment may be soundly but not excessively achieved.
Is everyone out xmas shopping .. So quiet .. Ok let me swing straight into it .. CHRISTCHURCH CHRISTCHURCH CHRISTCHURCH .... Yesterday was a pretty shocking day for those folks there .. And their seems to be a pattern building around xmas and earthquakes to me - yeah I know nuts nuts nuts .. Any how, so christchurch gets an earthquake at about two pm 5.8 mag strong 8km deep and shakes everyone up again .. then 7 minutes later apparently another one, the second at 5.3 mag strong, about same depth, then about an hour and a half later another earthquake, the third one, at mag 6 strong and 5km deep .. Now my questions are .. These earthquakes are not normal .. they keep happening and you can almost be sure to say there will be more soon yeah ? I am actually thinking that Christchurch is going to have a very big one in the next twelve months and scientist are saying the same I read too .. However their saying it will be between 6 and 6.4 im not sure how they work that out but you could put a bet on, saying a big one is going to happen again .. But I would put it up in the 7 to 8 mag, maybe even higher .. To me, these are tell tell signs that a big earthquake wants to let rip ... ! If you lived in christchurch would you stay to hang around after all of these earthquakes... Yes and I know they cant sell their property either so they are sort of stuck there but seriously, how many more warnings do they need .................... Nick if your still around, what do you think? .. Anyone, Matt and Lynsey what are your thoughts ? Cheers muchly Dean (nz)
Hi Dean, Was wondering where you were hiding, worried when all the quakes hit yesterday.
They are all grouping around the same area and like yourself would not be surprised if these quakes are a predecessor for a very large earthquake, the same happened in Japan in March.
I will keep checking the stations, a little less so tomorrow, but will still bring you the updates in the morning and evening.
Enjoy you holidays,
Merry Christmas to all
xx
Thanks for that Lynsey - have seen your post on christchurch on main page too regarding the after shocks .. Its just unbelievable out their .. I hope they are preparing themselves I really do .. That will be one to watch over next six months to a year possibly even in next week or two like Japan in march ... But the timing is unpredictable for any earthquake, yet I do feel like its ready to blow sometime soon now .. Have a merry xmas Matt and Lynsey (thank you for your had work this year and many many more years to come) - Barb and Nick and everyone supporting The Coming Crisis.... take care out there and stay safe! Still using my bloody phone - Dean xx
Hi Dean...
it may be easy to see a link between Christmas and the earthquakes depending on your point of view and/or beliefs but you have to remember that NZ is located on a major fault line.
I would put it down to coincidence. Just like the Boxing Day 2006 quake and tsunami in Indonesia and the New Years Eve 1906 quake in Ecuador. After a quick glance at those dates, some people might suggest a link between a day during the Christmas period and the eve of a new year. If you look at more complete list of earthquake dates, the picture appears much more random.
The key thing to remember is, as I mentioned above that places like NZ are on major fault lines. It is absolutely inevitable that more earthquakes will occur there. Just the same as Japan, West Coast USA, Chile and the west coast of SA, Indonesia, Turkey etc etc will all see powerful earthquakes again.
That is my take on things but I appreciate others will view things differently.
I hope things are stable over Christmas. There's already enough stuff to worry about with money and jobs without having to deal with things like earthquakes! The mad things is that the global economy issues could have been avoided, but the earthquakes can't.
Have a good one Dean.
Nick
Hi Dean../Anon NZ....
You need to get out.
Kind regards Barb
Hi Lynsey...
Can't believe what is happening in the world....it's Xmas Eve here in Aussie land...
What is happening is just "unbelievable"...
the droughts, the famines, the floods, the wars, the social unrest, the unemployment, the earthquakes, the poverty.
And Nick...DON'T you DARE blog that everything is NORMAL....I swear to god, you must work for the USA governemment or someone.
Everything is just "falling apart"....
KR Barb
Hi Barb,
i've never once commented that everything is normal. I have stated a number of times that many things happening in the world do have explanations and things like earthquakes and volcanoes are natural events that have happened for millions of years. There's a distinct difference with what i've commented on and how you're perceiving it.
I think that there are some things happening in the world which are anything but normal...most notably the civil and social unrest which has spread through many arab countries and also many western countries. It's unprecedented, therefore it's not normal. However, earthquakes have happened before in all the places which they are still happening..so I tend to think of them as normal...even if they are extremely unpleasant to live with and cause devastating destruction.
I'm not linking different events as the unrest around the world has been caused by 'man' with regards to civil liberties and financial doom and gloom. The quakes and other natural events, imho, are just part and parcel of living on an ever changing planet. As I mentioned before, we don't have a right to live on the earth without it changing. Earthquakes and volcanoes are just part of that evolution and they always have been.
Nick
Hi Dean,
I would say many events and series of events this year are on the rise or occurring in a peculiar nature. The number of destructive quakes are on the rise, the number of tornadoes has broken records, and if I'm not mistaken the financial loss from the destruction in 2011 is trending higher, but I'd need to check that to make sure. Animal deaths are also dramatically on the rise across the globe, and natives living in those areas for decades have themselves verified that things are out of sorts.
The number of riots and protests have also increased, as has the sheer amount of political turmoil. The amount of debt held by the world and the precarious situation in which nations find themselves financially has never before been seen. People carry themselves with an attitude of me-first in this day and age, and the toll that has taken on society has become painfully obvious.
At the very minimum, even the blind man with no access to the Coming Crisis could see that a confluence of events, or the "perfect crisis" (playing on the perfect storm idea) is brewing and becoming increasingly inescapable. Unfortunately for many people, fear of this change has led them to believe that "all is normal", or to attempt to subdue the immense impact these events are having on our lives.
It's essentially the Mary Antoinette scenario but on a much, much larger scale. When she said, "let them eat cake", she wasn't being insulting as pop culture makes it sound, but rather, she saw all the shop windows full of cake and couldn't understand why the poor were going hungry when so much food could be seen. She was, like many others are today, out of touch with reality and will ultimately pay the price for it. Then again, what will come, will come, whether or not it's given prior recognition.
Merry Christmas to each and every one of you. *puts on a Santa Hat*
Did Marie Antoinette really say that Matt?
Anyway, I agree with much of your post with regards to the rise in animal deaths, weather phenomena breaking records and the number of riots and protests happening around the world. However, I don't agree with your point about a fear of change causing people to not accept that the perfect storm is going to happen.
I honestly believe there are many people out there doing their best to spread fear about 2012 and their motivation is most definitely money. I've seen online sites promise 'insider' information on survival which isn't available to other members of the public. All people have to do to join this exclusive club is to pay money. Then there's the sites which sell survival kits to help people through the tough times ahead....which are surely coming! I saw similar sites popping up in the build up to Elenin and YU55 and they also cover Hopi prophecies too! Unfortunately, there are many suckers out there who are happy to buy into the theories and part with their money in the hope that it grants them an extended life whilst others miss out.
As you mentioned in your post, people carry themselves in a me-first attitude which means that if there's any sniff of a profit or personal gain, someone is usually more than happy to exploit things. It's the same kind of attitude that has brought economies to their knees.
I agree 100% with you comment towards the end..
"..what will come, will come.."
I don't think modern day interpretations of Mayan calendars are a sensible way to live a life.
Nick
P.S - Merry Christmas to everyone! :)
It's 26th decenber in Aussie land...last nights news said NZ had recieved 60 aftershocks since Friday...that they had 10 before noon on xmas day...so New Zealand is still being hit hard.
Melbourne yesturday...over 30 degree heat, very humid, had to bath my cat it was that hot...YET, Melbounre got hit with hail stones the size of golf balls...how can hail hit Melbourne when it was SOOOO hot????
Weird.
And...what is going to happen next?....you okay Dean/Anon NZ?...Kind Regards Barb
Hi Barb...
I hope you had a nice Christmas :)
I expect NZ will continue to get aftershocks and more quakes in the coming weeks and months. It may settle down after a while though...but with it being on the edge of a fault, it really is a ticking time bomb just like so many other places.
As for the hail storm in Melbourne...they do tend to occur during warm weather. It's just a shame that sometimes the hail can be large enough to cause damage.
Nick
Yeah all good so far in nz - jus a point though - Christchurch has been getting after shocks since the first one last year I kid you not .. The pattern is just the same and yet still indicating to another earthquake however I feel for the worst is yet to come ... Deano nz
Hi Dean...I believe your instincts are correct...NZ will get a "big" one.
I knew NZ was getting aftershocks since the big one...but not by the Aussie news, which was not reporting...found out by this website.
Keep yourself safe....KR Barb
Re: the 6.6 in Russia....I think there is a nuclear power plant in Siberia...Kind Regards Barb

Deano nz
That was a LONG time ago Dean.......just "donate" now....I've donated $1000....how much can you come up with honey????
Love barb xx
first, at a certain point in the page, the colors change and the messages are gray on white and very difficult to read (it used to do this with the posts some time ago but not since a while)
then, here is my message: you write «So why is it that the UK is Spending our money on Immigrants, following rules that the European Countries do not follow??» euh?? can it be because IMMIGRANTS were the victimes of UK who was and still is one of the most savage colonialist the world has known? the City should be bopmbed with all its bankers and traders for a start, but not before all their stolen wealth is redistributed to the so-called IMMIGRANTS. But alas, UK will be deeply ravaged by extreme climate events before banksters have time to repent.
Hi Michele,
Could you describe exactly where the messages are difficult to read? I'm not entirely sure what you're referring to in all honesty, since I can't find anywhere on the site where the text is grey on a white background.
Let me know and I'll try to fix it for you ASAP. Thanks!
Cheers Michelle...that's something to look forward to in the new year.
Happy new year to you too :)
I'm not so sure Britain's colonial past should be used to punish us in the present. Does the same apply to Germany for their Nazi history? Also, how about the Mongols, Vikings and Huns? The ancient Egyptians and Romans are also worth a mention when it comes to human rights. Maybe that is why present day Egypt and Italy are suffering...karma?! Then there's the Spanish for the Inquisition....and the Spanish Flu ;)
Lets not forget the massive amount of aid in terms of money, medical supplies and food which the UK donates to other countries.
The UK does more than many other countries in this respect.
Granted some of those countries are struggling due to UK/European/US policies as well as financial constraints imposed by the banking systems.
Nick
Just to add to my comment above..
I'm not against immigration in the UK. I think people, no matter where they are born should have the right to a decent way of life and standard of living. If that means having to leave the country of your birth, then so be it. Unfortunately, the welfare state system in the UK is open to abuse by people who have no intention of working or contributing. That said, the UK also has many, many people of British origin who are happy to abuse the system as well. Many of these feckless people just churn out kids and don't seem to want to take responsibility for their upbringing, education and behaviour and so it becomes a vicious circle.
I do think the laws need a little tweaking but not sure on the right answers.
Nick
The UK governement should not have allowed ANY immigrants in at all.....there was not enough housing / jobs for the British....think it had something to do with joining the EU.
(Australia has immigrants as it is a newish country & needed them, but not just ANYBODY can come in, need qualifications)
I am constantly being told by people in the UK how immigrants are taking the council houses, welfare, jobs etc.....it is causing a lot of racial hatred....which I think will explode.
The last lot of riots began to become racist...with gangs of whites going after blacks.
Michele...why do you say UK will be deeply ravaged by extreme climate events??? Curious, thought it was going to happen world wide.
Kind Regards Barb
I don't agree Barb. The UK is, well was, in a position where it could help people from other countries which have been ravaged by wars and crimes against humanity. If I lived in any of those countries, i'd try my hardest to escape so I could get a better life for myself and my family. The trouble was with the left wing approach to immigration. State benefits were handed out without much question and the system was open to abuse.
I do agree with your comment about immigration fuelling racial hatred. However, I think that in some cases, the criticism of immigrants goes way beyond irony. I've even witnessed people complaining about immigrants taking 'their' jobs, 'their' money and 'their' council housing. The fact that many of the people who are complaining have not contributed to the welfare state themselves in years is completely lost on them. It just gives them an opportunity to blame someone else for their own miserable existence.
I honestly believe the problems stem from the laws and their loopholes. I think more should be done to review individual cases in order to weed out the fraudulent claims and provide help for those who not only need it, but are willing to pay it back. I'm aware that is easier said than done and would probably require more money and time to assess the claims.
Anyway...that's my two cents on it.
@Michele (apologies for mis-spelling your name in a previous comment), are you worried about the effects climate change will have on Montreal in years to come?
Nick
Nick...am not talking about refugee's claiming political asylum....amd talking about immigrants.
What my friends in the UK have told me is that due to belonging to the EU anyone from the EU can can come & live in the UK (is this true?? let me know)...for example now heaps of polish people now live in Wales, living in council houses/claiming welfare....and they do it because of the poverty in their own country, basically they are better off in the UK.
The UK didn't need more people, had enough trouble housing their own.
Kind Regards Barb
PS and this racial hatred is the same as the german people had against Gypsys/Jews....all their problems were blamed on the "immigrants"
Love and a happy New Year to NICK.
Love Barb xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
