Obama smiles through downpour (as U.S. economy and his campaign continue to go down the drain) - 5th Nov 2011

In spite of his happy demeanour at yesterday's G20 conference, President Obama actually has very little to smile about as the economy remains terribly depressed and his re-election campaign continues to suffer.

Given the tidal wave of hope and change that came in with his historic election in 2008, President Obama was likely thinking that his re-election campaign would be able to hold on to some of that goodwill.

But the dire state of the U.S. economy is creating problems, with a continuous stream of Republicans blasting him for the lack of aggressive job growth and continued animosity from the 13.9 million people who are still unemployed. Read More
