CNN Reports "massive planetary body" lurking around edge of solar system (Buried but not forgotten)

Extremely misleading!

It may be better to just post a link to the article in the Independent rather than this video which claims that this planetary body already exists. The original article proposes that such a thing MAY exist but there is little to support it other than theory.

On the one hand, this site does its best to discredit mainstream media, but when stories such as this surface (which are the result of web or phone polls), the media becomes reliable!

It's not at all misleading. Scientists since the 1980s have been writing and researching the possibility of such an object existing, and we simply published this as a reminder. I'm also wondering how long you've spent on this website, since any regular reader would tell you that we don't attempt to discredit mainstream media in any way (we do, however, point out its shortcomings, and do the same for alternative media as well). In fact, many of our researched materials come from the mainstream media, which is often a very reliable source of information in some instances just as you said. Your final paragraph is somewhat confusing, however: this video (which came from the mainstream media and at its core is based upon 3 decades of mainstream media publication and research) is misleading, yet at the same time "the media is reliable." Hmm.

Hi Matthew, thank you for the reply.

I still think the video is misleading. The video claims the planet does exist.

"There is a huge, hidden heavenly body..."

The article from the Independent doesn't make that claim at all. You even acknowledge that the research has been made into the possibility of such a body existing.

Also, the video isn't really a mainstream item as such. Unless, i'm mistaken it's the result of a web poll on what stories get aired in a special segment called 'You Choose'.

As for how long i've spent visiting your site. Well i'm not sure exactly but it has been a number of months. Probably 6 or so. I've even uploaded some photos that I have taken which one of your mods put on your forum.

I'm grateful for the site. It has been a real eye-opener for me as I probably wouldn't be aware of some of the news stories you re-publish. Many of the articles you have posted have even formed the basis of quite a few conversations i've had with family and friends.

I do appreciate the work you do but I don't think it was fair for you to remove some of my comments. They didn't break any rules, they just offered an alternative opinion.

Thanks :)

There might be some miscommunication; someone, who I assume to be you, has had all their recent comments automatically go to the spam bin, and I'm not sure why. It could be a tech glitch. I've restored all of them except the one. The one I did delete was, in my opinion, disrespectful in the way it addressed us and our research, but I can't be sure if it was you who made the comment or someone else, since they're all under the Anonymous moniker. We welcome disagreement on our website and leave the vast majority of disagreeing thoughts up. We only permanently remove comments that don't follow our outlined comment requests, and we hold respect for others (perhaps excluding Obama, for obvious political and comedic reasons) in high regard. I'm glad you've been such a long time visitor, and hope you will continue to visit, read, comment and offer counter-points for many more months to come.
