A magnitude 5.0 earthquake has struck the Southern Mid-Atlantic Ridge at a depth of 10.4 km (6.5 miles), the quake hit at 00:08:03 UTC Thursday 29th September 2011.The epicenter was 563 km ( 349 miles) South of Ascension Island
